Welcome to the Web site for Holy Trinity Church, Pelton
and St. Paul’s Church, West Pelton. The parishes of Pelton
and West Pelton minister to a group of ex-mining villages
and new housing developments which lie to the north west of
Chester-le-Street in County Durham. The villages
include; Pelton, Ouston, Urpeth Grange, Newfield, Pelton
Lane Ends, Grange Villa, West Pelton, High Handenhold,
Beamish and the interestingly named No Place! For
those who are unfamiliar with the area much of Beamish Open
Air Museum lies within the Parish Boundaries. You will
find some photographs of the churches as well as a brief
history of the two parishes and also photographs of the
local area on our website
Sunday and midweek services in both of our churches cover
a range of styles from traditional to contemporary and you will find our
regular services listed in the Worship Section. Our aim is to be a
church for everyone, a place where we can worship and grow together in
faith regardless of age, experience or background and to be a
worshipping people which seeks to reach out into our local community to
share the Good News of Jesus in love and service.
We hope our website helps you to discover more about us,
but do get in touch if you want to know more, or visit us for a more
personal welcome. If you are new to the site or have a specific
question (such as how to arrange a Baptism or Wedding or what groups
exist for young people), try clicking on one of the images on the Home
Page.
